As an independent Registered Investment Adviser, FMS is not limited to
offering any "proprietary funds" and does not maintain any"special
arrangements" with fund families This enables us to look at the entire
universe of available funds when making our fund selections. Using our
four step fund selection process, we focus our search on funds that show
consistency year-in and year-out in regard to performance, asset allocation
and managerial style.
Our fee for service is negotiated up front and all fees are fully disclosed.
Any additional revenue that is received in excess of our negotiated fee, such
as 12b-1 fees and revenue sharing arrangements, are returned back to your
plan. For this reason, you can be assured that investments are being
selected based on what is right for your participants and not what generates
the most fees for us.
FIDUCIARY INVESTMENT ADVISER
The Pension Protection Act of 2006 created the role of Fiduciary
Investment Adviser. FMS is expressly authorized to take on this role for
you. The PPA created this role to give plan sponsors a way to transfer their
investment related fiduciary liability to a qualified third party. Why would
we consider taking on YOUR LIABILITY? We are comfortable in doing
this because we already have the policies, procedures and documentation
standards in place to meet the new requirements.
